Unboxed: Beyond Borders will be exhibiting artists from both Australia and the US. Running from April 24th through May 22nd with an opening reception and event on Friday April 25th from 6-8pm. The event portion of the opening will be streamed to Australia.
This is a collaboration between Australia's NSW organization, Orana Arts, and Atelier Rosal based out of Rahway, NJ. US and Australian artists create dialogue with their multi media works, addressing the theme of borders. All media has been accepted; ranging from traditional 2D visual art, to video/audio installation, to music, and poetry. This international collaboration illuminates and/or challenges the conceived perceptions of “borders".
From Executive Director of Orana Arts, Alicia Leggett:
In a turbulent world, it's more important than ever that voices in the arts are heard. This project provides an opportunity for our artists from across Regional New South Wales, Australia, to present their work internationally, and invite artists in New Jersey, USA to present, perform or respond to their work, creating potential for collaborations and expanding networks. The US artists we are connecting with are like artists anywhere—simply trying to find their place in a rapidly changing world. Unboxed: Beyond Borders hopes to broaden the horizons of regional creatives and create allies within the arts. We’re excited to be working with artist, musician and gallerist, Nick Rosal of Atelier Rosal on this project.
